Process
To start this project, I conducted thorough research, as I was intent on creating a typeface that was not only creative but also colorful and reflective of my personal style. During my research, I found myself drawn to typefaces that featured round and elongated shapes, particularly those influenced by Mexican culture. Inspired by this, I decided to sketch out a typeface that incorporated the vibrant colors and designs characteristic of Mexican culture.
I began by drafting all the letters of the alphabet in uppercase using my personal style in a sketchbook, incorporating typical Mexican cultural patterns into each letter. To transition my designs from paper to digital, I used my iPad and the round brush tool in Illustrator, ensuring the digital letters mirrored those I had sketched. For the colors, I selected a bright palette reminiscent of the hues commonly seen in Mexican holiday celebrations.
